From 1970 to 1985 the West African supergroup Les
Ambassadeurs defined a genre of African music. They gave
birth to a new sound, inspired by the hopes and dreams of
post-Independence West Africa. Blending elements from
salsa, jazz, soul, rock 'n' roll and the ancient art of the griots,
the music of Les Ambassadeurs became a source of pride in
West Africa, and placedAfrican music firmly in the
consciousness of music lovers everywhere. A recent live
concert reunion of Les Ambassadeurs was a huge success,
and this four track EP is a warm-up for the band's new
full-length album, due in 2016. The sleeve and vinyl are both
