streets of New Orleans, <B>The Meters</B> essentially invented the
second line groove, shaping the sound of funk like no other band
before or since. Their 1975 album <I>Fire On The Bayou</I> once
again proved that they were the undisputed masters of rhythm,
groove, and feel - a single, unified rhythm section blending
syncopated drum breaks, swampy guitar licks, and deep, rolling
basslines. This album captures New Orleans funk at its most joyful and
