Japanese promotional sample 18-track CD, the first
compilation on Luakabop, founded by Talking Heads' David
Byrne. This is an utterly fabulous collection of late 60s, early
70s Brazilian Tropicalismo put together by Byrne. It
prefigures the big wave of interest in Tropicalia during the
late nineties by some stretch, & includes essential tunes by
some of the movement's most important figures, Jorge Ben,
Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento & Caetano Veloso. This review
copy is complete with a English lyric translated booklet & obi
CP32-5848).
