BAND AID II Do They Know It's Christmas (Issued in December 1989, Do They Know It's Christmas? marked the return of the all-star charity ensemble Band Aid, reimagined for a new generation under the guidance of hit-making producer s Stock Aitken Waterman. Recorded at The Hit Factory, London, over the weekend of 2-3 December 1989, the single featured many of the era's biggest UK pop stars including Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Bananarama, Wet Wet Wet, Jimmy Somerville, Lisa Stansfield, Cliff Richard, and Bros. The project once again raised funds for famine relief in Ethiopia, continuing the humanitarian mission first begun by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1984. Released on PWL / Polydor on 11 December 1989, the single became that year's Christmas Number One, spending three weeks atop the UK Singles Chart and closing out the decade as the final No.1 single of the 1980s. This original 1989 UK 7" vinyl single is housed in its original dark green picture sleeve, featuring the Vocal Version backed with the Instrumental. The sleeve shows light ringwear and faint creasing, while the vinyl itself remains in Near Mint condition)
