THE VINES Highly Evolved (National Album Day 2026 UK/EU limited edition 12-track LP pressed on Green Vinyl)

The debut studio album from the Australian alternative rock band led by singer and guitarist Craig Nicholls. It was first released in July 2002 on Capitol Records and is now reissued for National Album Day Icons. NME named it the second best album of 2002. It appears in both 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and 100 Best Australian Albums.

The album was produced by Rob Schnapf and arrived as the garage rock revival was cresting. It pairs bursts of fuzzed, abrasive guitar with gentler psychedelic pop songs. The record carries the single 'Get Free' alongside 'Outtathaway' and the title track. Recommended.
