KNATS A Great Day in Newcastle (2026 UK/EU 9-track LP pressed on Black Vinyl)
A 45-minute record documenting working-class life in the North East, produced by the band's friend Geordie Greep, formerly the frontman of black midi. Knats take a storytelling approach over what they call a Geordie Jazz Noir sound. The songs tackle substance abuse, crime and toxic masculinity while keeping a playful, light-hearted streak rooted in Northern optimism.
The album introduces poet Cooper Robson as a new member. His verse sits alongside Stan's composition, King's orchestration and groove writing, and Ferg's melodic touch. Longstanding members Sandro Shar on keys and George Johnson on tenor saxophone complete the line-up, and the record marks a return to the band's rock roots.
