series 2026 UK/EU 9-track LP pressed on 140-gram Black
Vinyl. Originally released in 1976 Jaco Pastorius was still
in his mid-twenties when he made this record, and it changed
what abass guitar could be. "Portrait of Tracy" uses
harmonics in a way almost nobody had heard before, later
sampled endlessly by generations of R&B and hip hop
producers. Herbie Hancock and Wayne
Shorter both feature, alongside Sam & Dave on
vocals, but the whole record is really just one long argument
for the bass as a lead instrument. Picture sleeve, factory
sealed) )
