3-LP set pressed on classic Black Vinyl. Gang Starr
came back from a four-year split to make Moment of
Truth, their fifth album, and it paid off in a way none of
their earlier records had: it debuted at number one on the
Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, sold 97,000 copies
in its first week, and became the group's first-ever gold
record. DJ Premier, from Houston, and Guru, from Boston, first
came togetherin New York after Guru heard Premier's demo
tape, an unlikely pairing that went on to define East Coast
boom bap for a decade. The record closes on "In Memory
Of...," a heartfelt tribute to friends and family the duo had
lost, a track that's only grown more poignant since Guru's own
death in 2010. Gatefold picture sleeve, factory sealed) )
