2026 limited edition 6-track LP mastered from the original
analogue tape by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab,
pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
Recorded on 5 and8 February 1962, 2-3-4 brings
together drummer Shelly Manne with an intergenerational
lineup, tenor legend Coleman Hawkins, pianists Eddie Costa
and Hank Jones, and bassist George Duvivier, produced by
Bob Thiele for Impulse! Hawkins was in the middle of a
genuine late-career resurgence at the time of this session,
and the record moves fluidly between duet, trio and quartet
settings across readings of "Take the A Train" and
"Cherokee," anchored throughout by Manne's understated,
propulsive touch on drums. Housed in a tip-on gatefold jacket
picture sleeve, hype sticker & factory sealed) )
