DARKTHRONE Transilvanian Hunger (Scarce 1994 UK 8-Track Vinyl LP, fourth studio album from Norwegian black metal icons Darkthrone. Released during the height of the second wave of black metal, Transilvanian Hunger is widely regarded as one ofthe most important and genre-defining albums of the era, its stark lo-fi production and icy, repetitive riffing becoming a blueprint for countless underground releases that followed. The UK issue is notably harder to find than its Scandinavian counterparts, having been pressed in comparatively smaller quantities at a time when black metal vinyl distribution outside mainland Europe was still relatively limited. Housed in the original glossy picture sleeve with the now removed sentence on the reverse with printed lyric inner. The sleeve shows some notable edgewear, creasing and a small tear on the opening edge, the inner shows some foxing, creasing and storage wear, but no tears or splits. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned and shows some noticeable hairlines and scuffing; when played some light crackling can be heard but does affect the listening experience as this was recorded to sound gritty and raw.
