most consequential live engagements in modern jazz,
capturing Miles Davis and the Second Great Quintet at a
moment of total creative risk. Across seven sets recorded at
Chicago's Plugged Nickel Café, the group - <B>Miles Davis,
Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter,</B> and
<B>Tony Williams</B> - deconstructs familiar repertoire and
rebuilds it in real time, redefining interaction, tempo, and
form. Produced by Teo Macero, the recordings reveal a band
deliberately destabilising its own material, pushing standards
into volatile, exploratory territory. While excerpts appeared
sporadically in the 1970s and 1980s, the full scope of the
performances only emerged decades later, where the
complete presentation was immediately recognised as one of
the greatest live jazz documents ever issued, earning the
Penguin Jazz Guide's rare "Crown". This <B>10-LP
edition</B> mirrors the original complete sequence of
performances, cut from the high-resolution Mosaic masters
and pressed on 140-gram <span
style="color:#000000"><b>Black Vinyl</b></span>. Each LP
