THE METERS Fire On The Bayou (2014 UK/EU 16-track double album 2-LP pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. Hailing from the streets of New Orleans, The Meters essentially invented the second line groove, shaping the sound of funk like no other band before or since. Their 1975 album Fire On The Bayou once again proved that they were the undisputed masters of rhythm, groove, and feel - a single, unified rhythm section blending syncopated drum breaks, swampy guitar licks, and deep, rolling basslines. This album captures New Orleans funk at its most joyful and organic. This expanded 2LP 180-gram edition features five bonus tracks, including "Running Fast", "Keep On Marching", and "Jambalaya". Housed in a single pocket picture sleeve with original artwork and gold hype-sticker).
