pressed on 180-gram <B>Black Vinyl</B>. Originally released
in 1978, <I>The Scream</I> remains one of the defining
statements of post-punk's formative years. Emerging from
the London scene but rejecting punk's orthodoxies, the album
introduced an austere, rhythm-driven sound built around
Steven Severin's stark basslines, Kenny Morris' disciplined
percussion, and Siouxsie Sioux's commanding, incantatory
vocal presence. Tracks such as <I>Overground</I>, <I>Metal
Postcard</I> and a reimagined <I>Helter Skelter</I>
established the group's uncompromising identity and set the
template for much of what followed in alternative music.
Remastered from the original ¼" tapes and cut at half speed
at Abbey Road Studios, with audio and artwork overseen by
Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin. Picture sleeve with
original cover artwork, hype sticker & factory sealed.
