BOB & DOUG MCKENZIE Great White North (1981 US 17-track vinyl LP, a comedy album released as a spin-off from the SCTV sketch The Great White North, recorded by Bob & Doug McKenzie, more commonly known as Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. Essentially a reaction to the CBC's request to add more Canadian content to the show, Bob & Doug, two dimwitted beer-swilling brothers, were born. Despite this being a blatant parody of Canadian culture, this segment of the show became the most successful element, and as a testament to their popularity within Canada, Geddy Lee of Rush provides backing vocals on the track Take Off.
