TROJAN RECORDS Judge Sympathy - The Birth Of Trojan (Rare, long out of print 2008 UK 22-track eleven 7" vinyl single box set. Back in 1967 Island Records decided to create a subsidiary label that would come to symbolise & forever be associated with thestyle that was to make Jamaica a musical superpower. That imprint being Trojan, a subsidiary created specifically to showcase the productions of one of Jamaica's most popular and successful producers, Arthur "Duke" Reid. This box set featuresreplicas of eleven singles which were issued over the six months immediately following the labels creation, which by the start of 1968, Island had pulled the plug. Some seven months after its demise, Trojan was resurrected, although this time around it was much more than just a minor, if respectable, Jamaican music label. Now it was a new dynamic company that over the coming years would dominate the Jamaican records market in the UK. Each disc comes in a plain die-cut paper sleeve with a fold-out sleeve notes booklet, all housed in a clam-shell style card picture box.
