This copy is a 1965 first pressing, as denoted by the lack of 'Patents Pending' text on the back of the sleeve and '33' text on the label.
Interestingly, most first press copies of this album were subcontracted to EMI & Philips, with the CBS presses supposedly starting with 2A / 2B matrices. This is certainly a CBS press yet still has A1 / B1 matrices, in common with the EMI contract pressings.
It has smooth labels, but also has the pressing 'ring' at the centre going beyond the central CBS logo, indicating a CBS press, not a Philips or EMI contract.
This makes this a very unusual copy of the album indeed.
Condition wise, both sleeve and vinyl show few signs of their nearly fifty years.
The vinyl itself shows a few light surface scuffs but nothing significant that would affect play or compromise the sonics of the album.
The signature itself, being in a dark pink / red ink, stands out really well against the back of the sleeve.
The autograph was obtained by the manager at the Park Lane Hilton in London, who had responsibility for looking after Bob Dylan when he stayed there. This was then passed to the manager's cousin, who has looked after it ever since as the manager himself did not actually own a record player!
A wonderful early Dylan signature on a rare variant first mono press of his then current LP !
