Released in May 1964, this Japanese original Odeon label stereo LP was manufactured by Toshiba Musical Industies in glorious crimson-red vinyl, using their patented Ever-Clean technology for enhanced audio clarity.
The glossy picture sleeve remains in excellent condition considering its 41-year age, with just minor creasing around the perimeter and a very slight ringwear impression. The curved flipbacks are secure, there are no seam splits and the distinctive pinched-edge spine is strong, with clearly legible print along its length. The top front cover has a banded blue strip identifying this as a STEREO pressing.
This incredibly rare red vinyl edition also comes complete with its original Spanish language lyric insert. Typically, the title on this insert has been mis-spelt 'When In Spein' - quite normal for a Japanese translation!
Amazingly the original 3/4 length 'hankake' obi is still attached to the record sleeve. This unique style obi was only issued for a short period during 1964 - they notably adorned some early Beatles albums and now fetch in excess of 1million Yen, or £5,000! This stunning example is in perfect condition. So few of these have survived the past 40+ years that it's a real bonus to find one with this album, indeed this is the first copy we have managed to track down.
A beautiful original album, complete with insert and very rare obi. A chance not to be missed...
