JOHN COLTRANE & DON CHERRY The Avant-Garde (1978 German repackaging of the 1966 5-track stereo LP, originally recorded in 1960, this album features Coltrane & Cherry with Charlie Haden & Ed Blackwell [three quarters of Ornette Coleman's Quarte t] plus Percy Heath of the Modern Jazz Quartet. The gatefold sleeve shows a little cosmetic wear and scuffs to the silver metallic finish & the vinyl is Excellent with minimal play ATL50523)
