The cover is one of the most iconic designs to ever grace a record sleeve. To find it clean & intact & not far off its original state really does make our day. The silk laminate has peeling to the bottom flipback, a natural occurence after sixty odd years, & this example really has been well looked after. A surviving copy of Elvis' debut album? Yes please, we'll buy one of those any day of the week! But we rarely ever see one... There are no actual seam splits, just a small split in the top flipback forgiveable with age. There is no writing with this example, making for quite a find, & no heavy age yellowing either, with just the usual bit of chipping to the laminate around the edges. The front image is truly majestic, with minimal ring wear & nothing that stands in the way of its appearance. The laminate is tight & clean on the front & the image is unfaded, the colours still vivid. The black print along the spine is still clear, despite some minor chip marks to the paper, & would stand out on any shelf. As good as it gets in this day & age & worth preserving for eternity!
The matrices in the dead wax are machine stamped:

The heavyweight vinyl is nothing short of the highest quality pressing as you'd expect from His Master's Voice, made of real stuff before the oil crisis compromised the quality of vinyl in later years. Coupled with the fact this is one of the most played records of its day, to find a serviceable example of this, Elvis' colossal debut, is a very rare occurence.
We are told the vinyl was played a mere small handful of times purely to record to cassette tape, so this example has a lovely deep sheen both sides & very few signs of spindle marks by the centre. The vinyl easily grades Excellent & any surface noise is barely detectable on a mono setting. Highly recommended indeed.
Overall this is an outstanding one owner example & so difficult to better, Rock N Roll is here to stay!!
