The Artwoods Art Gallery UK vinyl LP album (LP record)

Tracklisting / Additional Info: |
This is an album with some history ...
Still bearing the original 19/11 price sticker on the front, this copy was actually exported to Japan, which is where we found it some thirty five years later. As a direct consequence, it has never been 'partied to death' like most copies of this classic & has sat quietly waiting for a new home, enjoying the Rising Sun in the meantime. We came, we saw, we bought. This album has now made the long return journey home after its extended holiday & awaits it's next careful owner.
The sleeve is superb with just a few light creases to the laminate at the edges & no edge scuffing - As good as it gets. Age has caused some laminate shrink, common where sleeves are just front laminated, leading to some lift at the spine, but this is unbroken. The colours are bright & vibrant & there is no significant evidence of shelfwear at all. The front of the sleeve is totally different to the normal issue of the album with a picture of the band posing in front of a stage set in a field!. The back of the sleeve has tracklisting information, some bizarre sleeve notes 'Arthur Wood freely admits to being a man but prefers his pet dog Doreen, heavily disguised as a goldfish, not to know' etc by the previously mentioned 'Pontius Elbows' and a selection of artwork for four other albums in the series.
The labels are maroon with silver text & the Eclipse logo at the top.
The vinyl is astonishing - fresh as a daisy, minty mint, looking as new. The clarity is wonderful and the full depth of the music leaps out at you, with surface noise at an absolute minimum and near silence between tracks. This album has clearly only been played on very good equipment - normally copies of this legendary LP have been 'partied' to within an inch of their lives!
All in all, this is an amazing copy in fantastic condition that you would be hard pressed to find again in such a beautiful state, thanks to its extended Japanese holiday!
