style="color:#FFC0CB">Pink & Blue Vinyl. The
Summer Portraits Live was recorded across the Royal
Albert Hall's longest-ever consecutive run of shows by a
classical pianist, a five-date residency (plus one) that mostly
sold out shortly after tickets went on sale. Einaudi drew
The Summer Portraits itself from a set of paintings he
discovered on the walls of a Mediterranean villa, later
learning they'd been made by a woman who returned there
each summer with her family to paint anew. "So I started to
make my own paintings with music," he's said of the album's
origin. This live recording pairs highlights from that record
with long-standing favourites "I Giorni," "Nuvole Bianche"
and "Experience," performed with violinist and guitarist
Federico Mecozzi and cellist Redi Hasa
alongside Einaudi on piano. Gatefold picture sleeve, factory
sealed) )
