The label designs found here are tricky to pin down but here is the detail.
Volume 1 has the 'r' registered trademark at the end of 'Note' both sides but with the old 'West 63rd' address stock labels both sides. The run-outs have both the 'ear' & 'RVG' etched by hand both sides.
Volume 2 does not have the 'r' registered trademark at the end of 'Note' either side & appear to be deep groove labels with the 'West 63rd' address for side one & the much older 'Lexington Ave' address for side two. The run-outs have both the 'ear' & 'RVG' etched by hand both sides.
Sleeve Condition:
Volume 1:
The pasted picture sleeve grades Very Good, with some discolouring & paper chipping & loss around the edges, but with all text legible, including along the spine. The import tax sticker is still attached to the back panel.
Volume 2:
The pasted picture sleeve grades Very Good, with some fading around the edges & minimal sign of paper chipping compared to Volume 1, but with some splits in the paper on the back slick. Once again, all text is legible, including along the spine, & the import tax sticker is attached to the back panel. These make a great pair & both records originate from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross, London.
Vinyl Condition:
Volume 1:
The vinyl grades Good, with some scuff marks, hairlines & the odd light scratch, but playback reveals no major loss in fidelity. Indeed, these are high quality pressings that sound astonishing, even in this condition, on a mono playback setting.
Volume 2:
The vinyl grades Very Good with clean wax both sides & just a few hairline scuffs not affecting playback. This copy fairs much better than Volume 1 & completes the package. Both discs have been professionally cleaned & are offered at an advantageous price.
