madmickeyt croydon, surrey UNITED KINGDOM Created Thu 29th May '08 09:18 (GMT)Question to EIL: yes, i'm sure! they had 2 there - perhaps i'd better go back and buy the other one too? mind you, i'm not sure about the packaging on these jap jobbies - you need very good eyesight to be able to see all the minute detail. And if you dispense with the polythene wrapping there is nothing to hold in the obi strip. i have noticed this recording is also available as a 3cd "longbox" and that might be better from a practical point of view.[reply to this topic ]

Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 28th May '08 08:29 (GMT) Edited Wed 28th May '08 08:30 (GMT)Lemmy THE MOVIE A host of rock legends are to feature in a new documentary about the life of one of rock’s most colourful characters, Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister.
The movie, tentatively titled Lemmy, will feature contributions from rock legends Slash, Dave Grohl, Mick Jones, Alice Cooper and Steve Vai amongst others.
One of the two directors, Greg Olliver says "Shooting Lemmy is like filming dangerous wildlife. He never does what you expect him to do, and he never does anything you want him to do. A lot of the coolest shots are shots we had to wait for four or five shows to go by before we could get them."
The film is due in 2009 and will feature a host more rock superstars in the final cut.

jetromanfariel Puebla city, Puebla MEXICO Created Tue 27th May '08 06:22 (GMT)Review: I must admit that I was a little afraid of doing overseas buying's (althought I've done it before many times, but it was a long time ago) but this particular promo CD was the ultimate item on my Olive collection... I was looking for it for several years, in fact this promo cd is from 1998 and got deleted after a very short number of copies were out there in few UK record stores, so you can imagine that for a mexican fan getting this cd was almost impossible, but nothing that EIL couldn't do. I must say that I'm gratefully amazed by the wonderfull treat by the EIL's team and items arrived in excellent conditions to my door, it felts almost like if I were back in 1998 receiving the promo just when it got released... About the CD I must say You are nothing is one of the most fine pieces from the '97 Extra virgin album, I was a little curios about a "radio edit" of the tune and I was afraid the song could got mutilated in purpose of getting shorter for a radio airplay but the cut of almost 40" gets practically unnoticed, and the "callout hooks" it's a concept I hadn't seen before in promo singles o regular/comercial singles (and I have really a lot). Just to end, the cover it's the most warm of any Olive realease, nothing like they did before or after, also has a latin feeling (shared with the song) and don't know why, but that makes it a little special. Olive was one of those few eletronic groups that could provide amazing lyrics and a great yet organic sound, almost a masterpiece.[reply to this topic ]

Kubickiboy Aberdeen UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 26th May '08 09:23 (GMT)Review: Great Package, Ordinary Bass Delighted to have got my hands on the J-84 Bass from EIL. I was too slow off the mark when these came out in 2007. I am a bass player & a Duran Duran fan so it was a must to get my hands on one of these. The whole package is amazing, lots of attention to detail with the case, strap, certificates etc. I would reckon that over 1/2 the manufacturing cost of this package went into case + accessories, The bass itself is ordinary, a passive bass, that feels like it could be a Peavey Millenium bass which has had an amazing paint job. I have seen youtube interviews with JT re the bass and it was alway going to be a more reasonable price & spec'd bass. I doubt I would ever gig the J-84 as I own & play better basses, I would be interested to see if JT ever gigs this bass with DD. I would say that this item is an awsome collectors piece, but not for serious players looking for their next best bass.[reply to this topic ]

oilbird Madison, CT USA Created Sun 25th May '08 14:34 (GMT) Edited Sun 25th May '08 14:35 (GMT)Led Zeppelin IV rare record I recently went to a yard sale, and I found a copy of Led Zeppelin IV is fairly good shape except for a deep scratch on track one- side one, and it had no printing on side one of the label! This is an obvious mistake. It does have the Atlantic logo, STEREO, and ONE on the red and green label, but no tracks! I know this is probably rare, and I tried to research it to find it's value, but no luck. I'd like to sell it on Ebay, but I'm not sure of it's value. Can someone shed some light on this LP?[reply to this topic ]

dr.billiton charleston, south carolina USA Created Fri 23rd May '08 23:13 (GMT)marianne faithfull - this little bird I love the pristine condition of this product, & the impeccable service at eil, but speaking as an american suffering from the currency devalation of the us dollar vs the euro & british pound, all I can say is one thing about your british prices...ouch!!! If anyone is considering the purchase of this lp - if you are a completist, by all means get it. However the front cover looks more like a drag queen who is impersonating marianne faithfull instead of the lady herself ( ha ha) . Let this be a warning to all attractive women out there not to become junkies![reply to this topic ]

Stephen Borkowski - UK Buyer UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 23rd May '08 15:12 (GMT)Sealed US Vintage Vinyl.... I've just returned from the US where Peter and I attended the Austin record show. We purchased a considerable collection of original 1960's and 70's sealed vintage vinyl but such artists as The Stones, George Harrison, The Doors, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and The Yardbirds to name but a few. The majority of the stuff will be arriving in the UK towards the end of next week, however a dozen or so items will be on the website by the end of the day, so check my latest arrivals.
If you ever find yourself in Austin, Texas, both Peter and I heartily recommend
Blacks BBQ , situated in Lockhart, just 30 minutes outside of Austin - it's a treat but vegetarians are not welcome - You've been warned!
Prior to my US trip I purchased a massive haul of 1980's and 1990's CD singles and albums. The collection comprises a very wide array of pop, dance, hip hop, RnB, soul, plus lots of deleted soundtrack CDs. There are over 2000 items so there will be something for everyone.

LarryH Clear Spring, MD USA Created Fri 16th May '08 17:41 (GMT)Review: Actually this is a June 2001 release of the old US Launch CDs. They were available from the old Internet site which is now part of Yahoo. Other dates listed on cover are for software copyrights (Quicktime,Microsoft,etc.).Some were available at certain stores( Borders,Tower Records,etc.). I have seen them in cardboard sleeves, snap packs, regular jewel cases, and the magazine format (a cardboard that opens up with info on the disc. Don't know why the different formats, could depend on where it was sold. Does anyone have a list of these as I just started collecting them? I have 2 different covers of numbers 51 (New Found Glory and Blues Travelers). I have issue #1 with Matthew Sweet (1994-95?).My most recent is #54 with P J Harvey dated October 2001. Don't know if that is the last one or not.[reply to this topic ]

Everybodies favourites Scottish indie kings Belle & Sebastian released their debut album Tigermilk in 1996 and we have obtained a copy of the original Electric Honey label LP, of which only a 1000 copies were pressed!
Also in the news this week,
Rangers fans caused havoc in the host city where they were playing whilst bidding to win a european trophy (just as they did in Barcelona back in 1972) while my favourite managerial incompetent,
BA boss Willie Walsh at least had the grace to turn down his £700,000 bonus in the wake of the T5 fiasco, although he did come out with the following pearls of wisdom.
"I thought it would be inappropriate that I be paid a bonus". (Really?)
Mr Walsh said the upcoming period would be "very challenging".
Wow, that bullsh*t management manual he got for Christmas has been given a hammering...
