Neal Handley-Sawer - Merchandise Buyer UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 4th Oct '06 09:47 (GMT)Calendar Update..... Some of you may have noticed that a few of the proposed calendar for 2007 have recently disappeared off the screen, so I thought I'd let you know why. Earlier this year I received a list of proposed calendars for 2007 - ones where the bands had been approached and said 'yes' to producing a calendar [I received the list in early March!]. After much too-ing and fro-ing between the calendar companies and the artists some of the bands by last week had still not approved some of the images for the calendar [in Shakiras case, none of the 12 pictures were approved after 6 months], and so the calendars for these bands have been cancelled, so if you're looking for a Placebo, Britney Spears, Chili Peppers, Shakira and more, the only reason I haven't got them is that they don't do them - but I'm still looking......[reply to this topic ]
Neal Handley-Sawer - Merchandise Buyer UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 4th Oct '06 09:37 (GMT)The Horrors..... We have just had details of the Horrors American CD single - If you haven't been lucky enough to grab either of the two limited 7" singles, here's your chance to get both - and with an extra track and the acclaimed video for oddball-genius director Chris Cunningham. The band are about to tour the UK on the NME sponsered Rock & Roll Riot tour - get along if you can - they make a great racket live even if they only appear on stage for a very short time. I've already ordered my copy, I recommend you do the same.

Robin Salazar - South American Office MEXICO Created Tue 3rd Oct '06 17:32 (GMT)Shakira Fever Shakira fever has arrived Mexico City she is going
to play 8 concerts and all of them sold-out, she started on saturday which was
the one I attend ...sound was good, at least she is bringing better equipment
than in previous tours (have seen her in 3 different) ...everything was good
except for that she was wearing for the first half of the show a 'HORRIBLE'
pajama pants, I tried to figure if it was a pajama or some 'karate' pants, then
she changed to a kind of 50's baby doll and then put a sexy skirt returning to
the 'karate' pants .... there were no tour programs this time, just some
official poor quality t-shirts that I decided not to get! Besides the Shakira
experience (click here to experience Shakira at eil), I also have some great genuinely autographed cds including Rammstein and Steve Vai.
I have heard
that on November there is going to be a new U2 best of cd, the question is, a
best of HTDAAB and HTDAAB ?? ... je je...more from me soon....

It was advertised as a 9-song test pressing but it has 10 songs, and the 10th song is at the start of the LP, a song called "London (I'm Comin' to See You)", which means that this is a test pressing of the UK version of this album, which was called simply "Glen". I am still very pleased to have this LP, thank you very much.[reply to this topic ]

Recently acquired has been some prime examples of genuine award discs that are:
a) BPI certified (rather than the more common in-house variety) and
b) the vinyl format, which to my mind, always look nicer than the CD awards that are obviously the norm nowadays.
3 titles are a silver award for the classic
Stone Roses debut album, a
GOLD award for Elvis Costello's
Armed Forces LP and finally a silver award for John Lee Hookers
Mr Lucky album.
Check these and our other 100% genuine award discs

jenny connell Colchester, Essex UNITED KINGDOM Created Sat 30th Sep '06 02:20 (GMT)Review: Recently bought this and it's excellent. The interview with Mick is very good and answered a lot of questions I had about the title and content of the album Love and the Russian Winter. Now when I listen to the cd it makes a whole lot more sense. I now own several of the tour books (alas, I'm late to the SR experience and have yet to see them live - but it's my next big ambition) and they are all worth owning, as they give real insights into the writing of the songs on the relevant album being promoted during the tour. Also there are some great photos of Mick and the other members of the band (at the time - it's interesting to track the changes in personnel over the years) and all of them are first class in terms of presentation. So don't hesitate - buy it now![reply to this topic ]

Simon Wright - UK Chart Product & Imports UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 29th Sep '06 16:54 (GMT) Edited Fri 29th Sep '06 16:55 (GMT)Sophie Ashley - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 29th Sep '06 15:59 (GMT)Question to EIL: Hi John Mispressings occured and do occur still quite frequently - much to the embarrassment of the label - and generally were pulled prior to hitting the shelves. For exmaple Going Underground was not originally planned as the A side of that single release but ,as they planned a double pack and had pressed up 300,000 copies in France they went with it... the rest is history. In cases where the pressing/error results in different artists these more oftenn than not are more of a novelty collectable in general rather than having intrinsic high value. If you were to list it on an auction site you might get a collector who was interested. Best of luck John[reply to this topic ]

'Wild Blue Yonder' is a brand new track with all the hallmarks of a classic Weller single which doesn’t appear on his recent top 5 album 'As Is Now'. Released on CD and 7” single the extra tracks also include the brand new 'Small Personal Fortune' [co-written with Steve Craddock] and an acoustic version of 'The Start Of Forever'. This the first in a series of stand alone singles that Paul will release over the coming months. More details as we get 'em....
