Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 12th Sep '07 16:06 (GMT) Edited Wed 12th Sep '07 16:44 (GMT) Edited 6 times HOT OF THE PRESS - THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE! Led Zeppelin have confirmed they will re-form for a special show at London’s O2 arena on Monday, November 26.
Tickets cost £125 each and will be available 'by ballot'. More details as we have it. The bill also includes Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.
Founding members Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals) and John Paul Jones (bass) will be joined by Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, on drums.
The one-off performance has just been announced via a handout given to attendees at a press conference in the Vue cinema at the O2 complex.
Singer Robert Plant reportedly let the cat out of the bag about the reunion last week. When asked by a fan whether the rumours about Zep re-forming were true, Plant explained that the band had had a meeting about the show on September 5. He also confirmed the reunion will be for one night only.
“There’s not a lot to work out as it’s only going to be one-off gig,” he explained. Hhhmm, we'll see about that when the cash starts rollin' in.

The band will be using a customised Boeing 757 to carry the band, crew and equipment. And, of course, Bruce Dickinson will be flying the whole lot himself. Over one and a half million fans will see the show, and the band will cover over 100,000 miles.
The tour will be something of a nostalgia trip for fans and band alike, as it will focus almost entirely on material from the 80s and the set will even be based upon the Egyptian design from the legendary ‘Powerslave Tour’ of 1985. On the band website Steve Harris describes the tour as “payback time” for the fans after their last shows saw the band performing their last album in its entirety.
Landmark Hendrix Gig On DVD: The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s debut performance in the US is set to be released on DVD in October.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey features the festival performance that is largely said to have made Hendrix into a superstar. The 1967 performance has gone down in legend as one of the most important moments in rock history as the Experience hammered out a thrilling set that included classics like ‘Purple Haze’, ‘Hey Joe’ and ‘Wind Cries Mary’. The result was that Hendrix was already a star in his own country by time the band played their last electrifying note.
Dylan Gives Thumbs Up to Film : The director of new Dylan biopic says that the legendary singer has given his blessing to the film.
Todd Haynes, director of I’m Not There, reportedly told journalists at the Venice Film Festival that the Dylan had given the thumbs up to the film (the only time he has ever ok'ed a film based on his life). The film already has Oscar "buzz" and is an interesting take on his life, with six different actors playing seven different “aspects” of the singer.
It might seem like a crazy idea, but reports suggest that it will be a serious awards contender come the awards season. Also, any film that casts Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett as Dylan sounds like it will be worth a look.

grubbe-tuchus USA Created Sun 9th Sep '07 07:43 (GMT)Mick Taylor is All Over this Record!!! Do you have ears? The album opens with a soring guitar solo from Mick Taylor. He plays rhythm on the next two tracks, or is that not allowed from this gifted musician? The next song, "Till the Next Goodbye" was the last rack he ever recorded with The Stones. He graces it with 12 string guitar and he co-wrote it with Mick Jagger. Following this is Taylor's top peforming "Time Waits for No One" which is chock full of tastey Taylor guitar solos. On "Luxury" Taylor again plays supporting rhythm to Richards main rhythm and lead tracks, just as the both of them did on "Ain't too Proud to Beg" and "It's Only Rock 'N Roll (But I Like It)". "Dance Little Sister" is a song written to showcase taylor's dancing guitar leads. "If You Really Want to Be My Friend" showcases two soaring solos from Taylor as well as his supprting guitar during the main parts of the song. "Shorts and Curlies" features some nice Taylor slide and some laid back leads. But closing, man-o-chevitz you have no ears at all because it is Taylor on funk bass as well as some overdubbed lead guitar parts. That bass playing is over the top funky and it can only be Taylor. This album should be called "Mick Taylor and The Rolling Stones" just so reviews like yours should never be written. Tin eras don't make for great album reviews. Thanks for having a unique gift to be able to ignore talented playing like Mick Taylor's. It's no wonder that so many lesser guitarists thrive with folks like you cheering their every bad note and flacid leads.[reply to this topic ]

Enter Sandman Napa, CA USA Created Sat 8th Sep '07 08:40 (GMT)Review: The best Metallica CD and beyond!!! This is my favorite album by Metallica as by far their very best after their great 80s albums like Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, and And Justice For All. I love all the songs in this CD and I wish to give the cd more than 10 stars, maybe 100 stars if were an option. The worst song is Nothing Else Matters and even though is still pretty good. But other than that, a headbanger classic!! If you are new to Metallica, start with this one as this one is their best and has Enter Sandman, then check out Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, and ...And Justice for All. You gotta have this CD in every rock collection. If you don't have this, what are you waiting for. Rush to your record store and buy this great cd today. YOU'LL ENJOY THIS!![reply to this topic ]

Good Afternoon one and all. As promised, I have a tale of gig going to share with you all. On Tuesday, despite the tube strike, I travelled to London's Oxford Street, where I paid a visit to the HUGE HMV leaving without buying anything [shocker!! normally I end up buying loads] and then crossed the road to McDonalds for refueling. On arriving at the 100 Club, I was 'greeted' by the 1st support act, nothing against them but it wasn't my cup of tea as they say; followed by the 2nd support act Port O'Brien who were rather good. Finally at 10pm having set up their instruments, Malajube emerged onto the stage, they were only on for about 50 minutes, but they were a brilliant 50 minutes. Being French Canadian, I couldn't understand a word they said apart from the odd "Merci" at the end of a performance and I was delighted to see my favourite tracks on the setlist alongside 2 new tracks which were just as good. All in all, a very good night. Can't wait to see them the next time, they are in London!! Today, I am estatic to be bringing you all delightful new release titles from the following: ERASURE Storm Chaser EP
The nine track EP features new, extended and remix versions of tracks taken from their recent album 'Light At The End Of The World'. The package also includes an exclusive duet featuring Cyndi Lauper and Andy Bell on vocals plus the winning entry to the remix competition of 'When A Lover Leaves You' (made using Apple's GarageBand software)."We originally recorded 'Early Bird' during the 'Light…' album sessions in Maine last Fall," said Andy Bell. "We were considering some special way to use it apart from the CD and when we agreed to co-headline the True Colors tour, we just thought it might make an interesting duet between Cyndi and us. She put down the vocals in New York and sent the ...
