sheila price , Wisconsin USA Created Tue 16th May '06 22:23 (GMT)David Bowie Santa Monica Like I said, I had the chance to buy 2 of the santa Monica 72 Box Set for only 10 bucks and DUMMY me just got 1. I cringe when I think about it. If I would have got the both of them I know I'd of let go of the extra one for what I paid plus shipping and insurance! Maybe I'm a fool but I do'nt hord. I'm not trying to brag either. I just feel that if I do things like this, someone elce will be just as nice to me. In 2000, I rented a nice room near where the bowie concerts were going to be(Roseland)...The Holiday Inn @ 170.00 a night for 3 nights. Some peeps were so low on money that they were staying at "hostels" which I guess is like a dorm. I ended up sharing my room. I met new Bowie friends and had a great time too. Why stay in that big room alone anyway! Somebody said what I did could have been unsafe but I felt perfectly 100% safe. That was in 2000 and now it's 2006 and I still have some great friends from that trip to NYC...... :-) xoxo, sheila NSFC#30[reply to this topic ]
sheila price , Wisconsin USA Created Tue 16th May '06 22:01 (GMT)what does he look like ? I agree with you Marge. David is awsome looking. He is beautiful~sexy~gorgeous~~etc.............. he has aged beautifully with time. How many 59 year old men look as HOT as he does? It's also his essence that contributes to his great looks. Plus the fact that he is a genuine, nice bloke. He is pretty much excessable to his fans. I know of many fans who has seen him in places like the airport for instance and he would usually sign an autograph and even allow his piccy taken with a fan. As long as the fans respect his space, IMHO, I think he will continue to be friendly. I have 2 fairly books to reccomend that have a ton of pictures of David. "BOWIESTYLE". Large coffeetable type book with a lifetime of pictures of Bowie. Another one is called "MOONAGE DAYDREAM" Pictures by MICK ROCK and commentary by BOWIE himself. This book is large hardcover-another coffeetable type book. This book is a bit pricer than BOWIESTYLE but it's newer and all the commentary is by Bowie himself. Some of it in his own handwriting! You can find it at Amazon.com for about 35.00 US. It was offered at BowieNet for 50.00~the difference was it was autographed by Rock and Bowie. That book by Angie Bowie IMHO is one sided and not 100% accurate. The photos were good. I feel this book was another knife put in Bowie and in the long run put a bigger wedge between she bieng able to know her son Duncan. That book is an embarassment as far as I'm concerned. sheila[reply to this topic ]
sheila price , Wisconsin USA Created Tue 16th May '06 20:52 (GMT)Bowie concerts Little Wonder, You are so LUCKY!! 200 concerts! Holy Cow! You must be well off finacially to be able to do that! Are you a member of BowieNet? Iv'e been since 1998 so that makes me an "oldtimer"! LOL! I think I've seen your posts on" BowieWonderworld". That's a really great site IMO. I've met the guy who runs it(Paul Kidner aka Rednik)! He's a nice bloke. So have you got a good Bowie collection to boot?? TA and have a great Bowie Day! xoxo, sheila NSFC#30[reply to this topic ]

Re: DAVID BOWIE The Man Who Fell To Earth - Original Life Mask (Rare
and original life mask of Bowie's face, cast in white plaster from the
mould taken directly from Bowie's face during production of the
movie. Unlike later reproductions, this is one of the very few 1976
originals, made for use as a promotional piece for the film. The
life-size cast has a numbered etching on the inside of the mask, and is
presented on a black velvet covered backboard with clear perspex
sides. A truly amazing piece of Bowie memorabilia! This is only the third known copy to come to the market during the past 20+ years... a very rare opportunity!)View this product

EddieMaiden UNITED KINGDOM Created Thu 27th Apr '06 15:45 (GMT)Question to EIL: will this play in the UK? You will find that some video machines will play NTSC and PAL but you will have to check to see if the machine you have will do this. Also this is the same for DVD's as you can get a multi-region DVD player, infact more and more DVD players made are multi region. Some of the cheaper DVD players can be made to play multi-region DVD's with a code usually found on the internet.[reply to this topic ]
