Condition
Both of my purchases from your company have arrived with the CD case damaged. While I am happy with my purchases, I would like to ask that any future purchases be shipped properly to avoid damage. I just wanted to pass the info on for your company to help improve your service.
Thank you

A very short DVD with very fine contents, must have for fans
This DVD contains FZ TV-appearances on "Saturday night live" from 1976 and 1978. Considering this is a non official release, the audio and image quality are not astonishing but quite OK, much better than usual bootlegs. The only disturbing thing is the very short playing time of only about half an hour. One piece (dancing fool) also appears identically on the DVD-A "Halloween" as bonusvideo.
The one-time-only events made it possible to enlarge the ensembles in comparison to FZs usual tour-bands:

1976:
FZguitar, vocals
Ray Whiteguitar, vocals
Eddie Jobson keyboards, violin
Don Grolnick keyboards
Alan Rubin trumpet
Tom Malone trombone
Ronnie Cuber baritone sax
Lou Marini tenor sax
Mauricio Smith alto sax
Ruth Underwood percussion
John Bergamo? percussion
unknown shaker
Patrick O'Hearn bass
Terry Bozzio drums, vocals
+Don Pardo sophisticated narration on "I'm The Slime"
John Belushi Samurai Futaba on "Purple Lagoon"

1978:
FZ vocals
Denny Walley guitar, vocals
Tommy Mars keyboards, vocals
Peter Wolf keyboards
Ed Mann percussion
Patrick O'Hearn bass
Arthur Barrow bass
Vinnie Colaiuta drums
+Alan Rubin trumpet
Tom Malone trombone
Lew Del Gatto alto sax
Lou Marini tenor & soprano sax
Howard Johnson baritone sax
+John Belushi Samurai Futaba on "Rollo"

The performances are fine and funny, all happens in a rich decorated TV-Studio:
First is "peaches" with Eddie Jobson on violinsolo. It is followed by "I'm the slime", TV-Monitors in the studio loose some liqud foam as "slime". Then "purple lagoon", conducted by FZ with a funny cameo of John Belushi. These were the '76-pieces, the rest is from '78, the blocks are divided by a little bit of interview material. "The meek shall inherit nothing" is heard here 3 years before its official release on "you are what you is". "dancing fool" ends with FZ getting a girl from the audience onto stage. The program ends with "St. Alphonzo's pancake breakfast" that also includes the rare "rollo" as finale. One more funny appearance of Belushi on this peace.
The very short playing time doesn't make it recommendable for newbies (even they would enjoy it). It has more value for completist fans that are comfortabel with the FZ-catalougue cause of its rare big line-ups, the rare found "peaches" and "rollo" and the fine performances in acceptable...

Question to EIL:
I have just come across this double album (15 tracks) in an oxfam shop in newcastle.Inside there are lyrics and colour(mostly greenish, blueish) pictures infront of each track lyric.
How would I know if it is 'columbian'? Copyright is CBS.The vynl is in mint condition. Would appreciate any comments on this album please. Carole

Extraordinary Over-nite Sensation!!!
Hi members!

I won't even bother describing this one - just have a look at the pics. Any info about this record is very much appreciated!!! OS release date was Sept. 7 1973!
(could the red text be handwritten by FZ?!?!?)

Question to EIL: Do you know anything about this Over-nite r
I bought this one about a year ago. I believe it's a test pressing.

It's a 7-track black vinyl with white labels. On the labels printed in black: énchantillon, number (maybe 41 000??? it's a mess), Editeur, Face and Date below the énchantillon.
Track names and lengths are handwritten in red around the printed texts and on face A it reads "Zappa" also in red handwriting. The title of the album is NOT on the labels.
"Editeur: Wea Filipacchi", dated 23.8.1973 (the album was released in USA 7.9.1973!)
Only the track names are in red, other info is in blue handwriting (blue and red texts are written by different persons)
It is in a black standard sleeve with no text or artwork.

Any info is very much appreciated!!! I could post pictures of the labels when I get a digital camera in my hands. Could the track names be hadwritten by FZ himself?!?

What is this acetate ?
Members,

I came across an 10 inch acetate of "Joe's Garage" (4:07) on one side..."Central Scruntinizer" (8:35) on the other.

The label has "JVC Cutting Center, Inc." logo on the top...red lettering, black background...below information black type over white background...is "FRANK ZAPPA" below the label on each side and the song titles in caps, and in black type.

Penciled in on the "Side One" label is "MK-107"...the acetate itself is in a darkish brown paper holder.

Does ANYONE have any information about this, or could they direct me to SOMEWHERE where I can get some info !

Thanks,

Mike
