Tim Bucknall Congleton, Cheshire UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 13th Dec '10 14:08 (GMT)Review: curiosity value only This Item is a promo single LP version of the set originally issued as 2x12" singles which played at 45rpm there are no mixing, editing or other differences to the original issue it even fades out where the original side flip was. despite having no blemishes on the record it skips severely at the start of both sides. my other Elektra promos from the 80's do the same so i assume its a problem at the plant. when its not skipping the sound quality is excellent so it had the potential to be a nice pressing[reply to this topic ]

The Machman East Grinstead, West Sussex UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 21st Sep '10 08:55 (GMT)The Classic P.I.L. Album If John Lydon (as he had now reverted back to) hadn't walked out on the pistols, then First Issue gives a possible indication into the next direction of the Pistols music. Unfortunately, Malcolm McLaren had already done enough damage to the Pistols to the point where the implosion had begun (could be argued that it began when Matlock went). Anyway, First Issue is a fabulous album just for the fact that it contains the immortal self-titled Public Image track. Such an influential record in it's own right, there are a couple more tracks on this album that stand up with this. I think you need to have been around at the time to really relate to the music however as the passing years have had a tendency to make some of the songs laboured. That said though, the album art is a joy, particularly as the inner included here is the original picture one... Each face of both the outer & inner sleeves is a cover in it's own right. Fabulous copy & excellent condition. Most chuffed![reply to this topic ]
Re: P.I.L. Public Image (1978 UK 8-track LP with 'PiL' logo label,
the classic debut from Messrs Lydon & Co. which saw off the
Pistols legacy in fine style, including Public Image, Annalisa,
Religion & more, picture sleeve with Levene/Walker inner.
The sleeve shows only very minimal wear & the vinyl looks
barely played - a nice collector's copy! V2114) View this product
STRUMMER FAIRLAWN, N.J. USA Created Sat 11th Aug '07 14:05 (GMT)Now you're talking! HEY MATT, I MOVED HERE IN 1989. I CAME TO CHECK IT OUT AND ENDED UP STAYING. I GOT A GREEN CARD FIRST AND THEN CITIZENSHIP. IT'S BEEN GOOD. I MISS MY FAMILY AT TIMES BUT GET HOME AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. MY MOM MOVED BACK TO ENGLAND WHEN MY DAD DIED 5 YEARS AGO. SHE'S FROM AYLSBURY. YES THE CURE SINGLE WAS ME TOO. I JUST GOT TICKETS TO SEE THEM IN SEPTEMBER. THEY ARE PLAYING IN MADISON SQUARE GARDENS. I WAS SURPRISED, AS THAT'S A BIG VENUE. WENT TO SEE THE POLICE LAST SUNDAY, THEY WERE AWESOME. I DON'T LIKE BIG ARENAS THOUGH, VERY IMPERSONAL. I NEVER LIKED CRASS, THE L.P. BELONGED TO MY FRIEND LAR. I LOST TOUCH WITH HIM. I NEVER HEARD OF THE POP GROUP BUT I DID HEAR OF PERE UBU. CAN'T SAY I'VE HEARD THEIR STUFF, JUST THE NAME. I LOVE SPEAR OF DESTINY AND MISSED KIRK BRANDON WITH DEAD MEN WALKING, WHEN THEY WERE HERE LAST. I SAW THE ALARM, THE FIXX AND THE FURS 3 WEEKS AGO, WHAT A SHOW!! HOPING ECHO WILL PLAY HERE SOON, AS I LOVE THEM. HAVE TO SAY, NO MATTER WHO COMES AND GOES, THE CLASH WILL ALWAYS BE MY HEROE'S. MY MOST FAVORITE SONG IS STAY FREE, IT RAISES HAIRS ON MY NECK !!! I WILL BE HEADING TO SCOTLAND IN MAY FOR A WEDDING AND AS I'VE NEVER BEEN , I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. THANKS FOR THE CHAT, IT'S NICE TO TALK MUSIC WITH A LIKE MINDED!!! SYLVIA[reply to this topic ]
Re: P.I.L. Metal Box (2006 US limited edition remastered 3 x 12"
