Kubickiboy Aberdeen UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 26th May '08 09:23 (GMT)Review: Great Package, Ordinary Bass Delighted to have got my hands on the J-84 Bass from EIL. I was too slow off the mark when these came out in 2007. I am a bass player & a Duran Duran fan so it was a must to get my hands on one of these. The whole package is amazing, lots of attention to detail with the case, strap, certificates etc. I would reckon that over 1/2 the manufacturing cost of this package went into case + accessories, The bass itself is ordinary, a passive bass, that feels like it could be a Peavey Millenium bass which has had an amazing paint job. I have seen youtube interviews with JT re the bass and it was alway going to be a more reasonable price & spec'd bass. I doubt I would ever gig the J-84 as I own & play better basses, I would be interested to see if JT ever gigs this bass with DD. I would say that this item is an awsome collectors piece, but not for serious players looking for their next best bass.[reply to this topic ]

Meghan Los Angeles, CA USA Created Mon 18th Jun '07 19:52 (GMT)John Taylor 18 songs promo Hi there I read on the DD message board that this is actually even more rare because it has two mixes on it that are not on any other cd. 'Love is bondage' and 'Such a good lover (instrumental mix)' were apparently both mixed and played on by Eric Alexandrakis, who is the owner of Minoan Music and was discovered by JT. Can you listen to to the "Love is bondage" from this cd and from John's japan cd, and tell me if the two mixes are actually different??? If so, maybe I'll spring for it!! Thanxooxoo!
