This is simply one of the most lifelike, dynamic, emotional recordings I've ever heard on vinyl. It conveys to me so many aspects of what it is to be fully human. The Duke just KNEW what it was like to be fully ALIVE on stage; despite what he may have had to live with off stage, in an era where racismwas still more the way than away.
