The Rolling Stones The Best Of The Rolling Stones German vinyl LP album (LP record)
|
| Tracklisting / Additional Info: |
The German Book Club pressings were very limited edition, often with unique artwork and were seldom available through retail outlets with the exception of some Hör-Zu pressings. Exact numbers pressed are unknown, but estimates of betweeen one and two thousand seem to have been the norm, although in many cases the volume shipped was actually quite a lot less.
This and their unique sleeve and track configurations make these extremely desirable albums to the collector.
Condition:
It would be fair to say that the sleeve has seen action, with a significant amount of edge scuffing & light creasing and a split to the spine, but the main images still hold true and all text remains readable. The outside of the sleeve is an ivory colour as opposed to white, which is probably the result of yellowing over time. It is seldom found in much better condition than this.
The labels are a nice gold print on dark maroon. There are several spindle marks evident around the centre hole, which would indicate a fair degree of play. All is not lost however, because the vinyl actually doesn't look too bad. That's not to say it doesn't fall somewhere between G+ & VG-, because it does. There are several visible scratches and scuffs, although the heavyweight sixties pressing means that the album still plays without fault. Needless to say, background noise and the odd click is a given.
Very rare and sadly seldom found in much better condition than this, there is another 'cute' factor in that the songs on the sleeve and labels have the dance style next to them, like 'Slow Rock', 'Twist' & even 'Foxtrot'.
So there you have it. An extremely rare Rolling Stones release in about the usual condition you find them in. To tell you just how rare this is, we've never had one before.
A unique tracklisting too:
