EMI RECORDS Highlights Aus 40 Jahren Vinyl -
Schallplattenherstellung Bei EMI Electrola In Köln (Rare 1993 German
only 56-track limited edition triple compilation LP, issued on the
occasion of the closing down of the Marweg pressing plant & featuring
a selection of tracks from the EMI catalogue on vinyl for what they
believed would be the last time. The first disc is devoted to European
artists, the second to world conquering acts such as The Beatles, Pet
Shop Boys, Pink Floyd, Queen,The Beach Boys, Cliff Richard & more,
the third to classical themes. Each individual album has classic 'Nipper'
retro labels, is in its own picture inner with representations of the
artists featured & the tracklisting of the disc, complete with a fold out
brochure with text in German & English, all tucked away in a nice high
quality textured sleeve. The brochure shows a little creasing where it
obviously got squashed by the albums, but the sleeve shows very little
in the way of shelfwear & all vinyl is mint. A stupendous set & a fitting
tribute to the end of the EMI vinyl pressing plants in Europe. Limited to
just 5,000 copies, with most going to EMI employees & outlets, this is
now extremely hard to find, especially in this near perfect condition!).
