	THAD JONES Detroit-New York Junction (Mega rare 1956 US first issue 5-track deep groove mono LP, on a Blue Note label with Lexington Ave address & a deep groove both sides of the label. Other first issue indicators include the flat edge, no 'r' below 'Note' on the labels & both the 'RVG' [Rudy Van Gelder] & 'ear' etchings in the run-offs. Also stars Billy Mitchell, Kenny Burrell, Tommy Flanagan, Oscar Peterson & Shadow Wilson, pasted matt picture sleeve with Lexington address on the b Tracklisting: ack. BLP1513)��Blue Room Tariff Little Girl Blue Scratch Zec Condition : - This is one felicitous Blue Note original we have never stocked before. The pasted sleeve has no seam splits at all or any writing & is simply as good as it gets. Some very faint discolouring to the panels is unavoidable & there is still a lovely sheen to the front. The yellow remains strikingly vivid & all text is clearly legible with no blemishes to stand in its way. Fantastic! The labels have no writing or tears & the UK tax import sticker is intact on the second side. There are spindle marks by the centre hole to highlight past action on the turntable. The deep groove & Lexington address is present both sides. This was released before the label became an incorporated company & registered trademark, meaning there is no 'INC' or 'R' lettering after 'Blue Note' on the labels. There is a distinct flat edge. The Rudy Van Gelder initials 'RVG' & the 'ear' logo are both etched into the runoff area. The matrices, like the 'ear' are hand scratched. A combination of Van Gelder's sound engineering & Plastylite pressing is well & truly the 'golden age' of highest quality, Blue Note pressings. We really should be putting these in our audiophile store! The vinyl is incredibly clean with no scratches or anything that would upset play. It has received a deep cleanse on a top of the range Matrix machine. The quality of heavyweight Blue Note vinyl pressings from this period is unsurpassed & playback is immense, with just the lightest bit of surface detectable during the quieter sections & at the start. This is a very pleasing VG++ example. A fine play copy of an ultra rare original & at a more affordable price than a mint one. On mono setting playback, this one is sooooooo good!
	THAD JONES Eclipse (Scarce 1985 Swiss-only 8-track LP on Storyville, released after Thad's relocating to Copenhagen, Denmark & forming the Eclipse band with a Danish Big Band. Also includes the familiar names of Horace Parlan & Sahib Shihab, picture sleeve with company catalogue inner.
