The first two issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow & black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text & retained the small '33 1/3' after the matrix number of the first two pressings. The second yellow & black removed the small '33 1/3' print.
This is therefore technically the fifth issue, still from 1963.
The Labels:
Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Recording First Published' label text. As this is a 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label.
The Sleeve:
The Ernest J. Day sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo on the front & benefits from crisp, clear laminate & rich colours. The reverse shows a few areas of light discolouration, but is still mainly off-white with all text legible. There is a small amount of wear to the flips but the spine text is still clear & legible & the sleeve overall remains respectable. The previous owner had carefully written their name below the upper flipback.
Vinyl:
The vinyl has retained its shine, with few spindle marks around the centre hole & a few light surface scuffs visible to show for over fifty five years. The sound remains superb on a mono playback setting.
An iconic classic from the Fabs that should be in every record collection.
