Beatles '65 was released in December 1964 and is the The Beatles fourth Capitol release, but sixth American album. Beatles '65 includes most of the songs from Beatles for Sale, but omitting 'Eight Days a Week', 'Words of Love', 'Every Little Thing', 'I Don't Want to Spoil the Party', 'What You're Doing', and the 'Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey' medley, which would show up later in Beatles VI. It instead included 'I'll Be Back' from A Hard Day's Night album and includes the single 'I Feel Fine' / 'She's A Woman'. These two latter songs were remixed into 'duophonic' [fake] stereo and drenched in echo by Capitol Records' executive Dave Dexter, Jr. to cover up the use of the mono mixes sent from England.
This copy remains in perfect mint condition as it is still sealed in the original factory shrink wrap.
The sleeve design is front pasted with catalogue number and 'File Under :The Beatles' text at the top. The slick on the front of the album tends to vary in colour from grey to green depending on where they were printed, this copy is more green than grey indicating that originates from Queens Lithos in New York.
There is no factory number on the back of the sleeve. There are two faint grey lines running top to bottom in the centre of the rear of the sleeve. These are under the shrinkwrap and are a factory flaw. Apart from these lines the back of the sleeve is as white as the day it was made. The front slick has bold, dark colours.
All edges and corners are completely sealed - a very tight seal at that. There are two tiny breather holes on the front and two on the reverse of the sleeve. The print on the spine is clearly legible.
A staggering example of this classic album - true investment grade item!
