THE BEATLES Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Original 1967 1st issue UK black/yellow Parlophone label MONO vinyl LP with 'The Gramophone Co Ltd' & 'Sold In The UK' label credits. Tracklisting / Additional Info:
The labels on this classic album are matt black with Parlophone in bright yellow text, all other text is in silver.
The perimeter text states "The Gramophone Co Ltd.." with "Sold In The UK Subject To Resale..." Etc text across the centre of the label. Under close inspection there are many light spindlemarks around the centrehole, indicating that this album has been played, however the "KT" tax code is still clearly visible either side of the hole.

The matrix numbers have been machine stamped into the dead vinyl, they are as follows
Side One XEX 637-1
Side Two XEX 638-1
The matrices on both sides end -1, this indicates that this album was one of the first pressed.

The vinyl, while not mint is very respectable with only a few marks. Audibly it plays well without skipping, jumping or popping, however as this album has been well played over the years there is some background crackle evident in some of the quieter sections, such as the track breaks.

Housed in the original fully laminated, internal flipback picture sleeve which benefits from rich colours, intact laminate which is slightly discoloured, secure flipbacks and clear spine print.
Unfortunately this does not contain the sheet of cut outs.

Of course the price reflects the condition as mint copies tend to sell nearly triple this bargain price. This is a great opportunity to get a highly respectable condition copy of this classic album, without breaking the bank!

Review: ********* 9/10
I'm really happy to have been able to afford a copy of this record in as good a shape as it is in. Thanks eil.com. This is also the first time I have even heard a mono copy. Of all The Beatles albums I've heard this one is an absolute must have in mono. I definitely feel privileged to now own this record. It plays really well, almost perfectly I would say, which to me is really the most important thing. There are some visible scuffs on the record, but still really quite minor. I've loved this album since I was 15 and I'm now 33. I also am happy to have the original UK release on the black and yellow Parlophone label. I have a few of these now and they sound great. I would like to own as many as possible over the years. The only reason this gets a 9 and not a 10 is obviously because it's not quite mint, but, that's to be expected at this price range! Thanks again!
