JAZZ ARTISTS GUILD Newport Rebels (Rare 1960 US 5-track mono LP on the yellow above orange Candid label, featuring a collaboration between Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Eric Dolphy, Roy Eldridge & Jo Jones, with futher contributions from Jimmy Knepp er, Tommy Flanagan & more, textured pasted picture sleeve. In 1960 Charles Mingus decided to organize an alternative festival to the Newport Jazz Festival and recruited some like-minded players to join him. This original album is credited to
