cockshad UNITED KINGDOM Created Sun 3rd Apr '11 17:09 (GMT) Edited Sun 3rd Apr '11 17:10 (GMT)Rare Items The Outlaws In a time before the marvellous See For Miles and the BGO reissues of the singles [HMV] and Dream of the West, your only choice of hearing the Outlaws records was to search out the original singles or this item..Dubious of origin, its highly likely that this is a bootleg..However is is of interest as the first collated attempt to group together most of the bands HMV singles.I have two different versions, one with a picture cover and one with just the Rockin Guitar moniker, both have different labels.Maybe it was a labour of love, and in that spirit it has an appeal..not perfect, for instance it lops off a few seconds of Swingin Low...However to completeists its yet another one to add to the small canon that was The Outlaws on vinyl...it maybe Australian,Belgian,or French...but im not sure its German...3/5[reply to this topic ]
Re: THE OUTLAWS Rare Items (1985 German 13-track LP featuring hard
to find tracks by the Joe Meek stable band which included a young
Ritchie Blackmore at one point & the debut of the great Chas Hodges,
picture sleeve. The sleeve shows a little lightshelfwear with some mild
creasing & the vinyl is immaculate) View this product

Re: THE OUTLAWS (UK) Ride Again: Singles A's & B's (1990 UK See For
Miles Records 18-track vinyl LP, picture sleeve. The sleeve shows signs
of spine rubbing, but the vinyl is flawless! SEE-303) View this product
cockshad UNITED KINGDOM Created Sat 22nd Jan '11 18:44 (GMT)Review: I have 2 copys of this,an early one [like the one for sale] and a late copy.In nov 1962 HMV changed the label design to black ,and i think the sleeve also to the red.if im wrong ill stand corrected.A nice enough tune, almost a complete departure from the previous singles, having an almost Shadows like sound with female backing and piczicatto strings.Personel on this being Hodges [Bass] Groom [Drums] Lundgren [Ryth Guitar] and Mingay [Lead Guitar],this being their only recording together.Groom and Mingay left, with Mick Underwood and Ritchie Blackmore their replacements. This lineups first recording was under the name The Chaps, and the tune was Poppin [parts 1+2] on Parlaphone.[reply to this topic ]
