Ed Oster Bushkill, PA USA Created Tue 31st Oct '06 20:57 (GMT)A Feast for Your Aural Sensibilities!!! I am intimately familiar with every song named on the album's list The album displays both Les' guitar virtuosity and Mary's marvelous song styling. "How High the Moon" was the first of their recordings I'd ever heard(age 12) and my stomach did flips from the experience. At 69 it still does! The driving rhythm and the surprise of hearing a slow sentimental ballad to a hard-driving musical juggernaut. "Lover" was Les's first "New Sound attempt. Here, too, a Richard Rogers waltz again takes on speed, and the guitarist's musical and technical savvy are more than elegantly displayed. If the listener has never heard a Les Paul and Mary Ford recording, he should prepare himself for an experience to which no one else could ever treat him. Enjoy---would that I could hear it For the first time again, with you. [reply to this topic ]
