Once again it's time to announce and present our prestigious Awards, with all the results based on
overall sales from the previous 12 months, customer feedback and just a little input from our team... |
Female Artist
Absolutely no doubt this year has belonged to the fantastic Gwen Stefani
With a string of solo hit singles and a chart topping album all around the world there seems to be no stopping her.
Move over Madge there's a new Queen on the horizon! |
Male Artist
It was a close call this year with a host of new pretenders to the crown
as well as some more familiar faces, but in the end we went for the 'Modfather' himself. Our male artist for 2005 is Paul Weller! Mr. Weller resurfaced
this year with his best collection of songs in many years in the shape of the superb 'As Is Now' |
Group
Another difficult decision which caused heated discussions & hours of
deliberation but we all agreed that the swagger was well and truly back thanks largely to the stunning album 'Don't
Believe The Truth'.

Breakthru Artist
The closest run category of the year with some amazing
artists appearing on the scene but this year we couldn't see past the band from Staines with their stunning debut
album 'Stars of CCTV'. This years Breakthru artist is Hard-Fi |
Rock
The greatest rock and roll band in the world showed a lot of the
youngsters how to rock! A classic slice of bluesy, riff laden rock and roll at it's very best. With yet another world
tour well under way there really is no stopping them. It may still only be rock and roll, but we like it, like it,
yes we do!!

A quiet 12 months in the world of floor filling with the genre being dominated
by reissues, remixes and just a damn right poor standard of releases. But one artist stood head and shoulders above
the rest.

Album
A great year for big album releases with albums from Franz Ferdinand,
Supergrass, Robbie Williams plus the long awaited return of Oasis & Paul McCartney.
But this years award goes to Coldplay with 'X&Y' |
Single
There may be talk of a decline in sales and a lack of interest in single releases
but for us the format goes from strength to strength with some massive selling titles over the previous 12 months but,
for us it just has to be the superb Kaiser Chiefs with their anthemic 'I Predict A Riot' |
