N*E*R*D aka The Neptunes have won the coveted Shortlist Award. The duo have been all over pop music for the past year. Their remixing, production and guest spots have been featured on hits by Britney, Missy Elliott and more.

The Shortlist Organization is only one year old, it was formed in 2001 by two music industry veterans Greg Spotts and Tom Sarig. They wanted to create a celebration of more left-field type music and to help those artists and their music cross over into the mainstream.
The Shortlist Music Project has a unique method of selecting it's nominees and eventual winner. Unlike most award ceremonies the decisions are not based directly on sales - although each nominated album must NOT have sold 500,000 units by the time of it's selection -
or upon the decisions of record companies and the public. Instead a panel is chosen, the 'Listmakers'. These select few are asked to nominate their favourite albums of the year to create a 'Longlist'. In turn the final 'Shortlist' of 10 is selected from these and the eventual winner is then voted on by the 'Listmakers' before the awards.
The winner of the Shortlist Music Prize receives $10,000, as well as the kudos of winning an award voted by their peers. The ceremony features performances by a variety of the nominated artists and the MTV2 channel gives heavy exposure to all the 'Longlist' nominees.

Today Mr. Richard D James is still at the forefront of the techno movement. He was one of the originators and progressors of the movement that has spawned many twisted alternatives.
'Drukqs' is his sixth album under the monicker of Aphex Twin; he has recorded under a variety of alter-egos (Polygon Window, AFX, Dice Man) throughout his career.
