Monday 21st October sees the 2002 Q Magazine Awards ceremony take place in London. These awards represent a clear indication of the UK public's views on rock. All the nominations are voted for by readers, then these are again voted down to the winners; it is the opinion of fans and readers only.

The surprise multi-nominees this year are Oasis, they have had a successful year but still recieved some critical questions. This year's MTV European Music Awards are going to be HUGE. Presented by a world-wide Hip-Hop superstar, there will be exclusive performances from a mega-star or three and all the music heroes and heroines will be screaming, crying and thanking everyone when the pick up their awards !!

EIL.COM'S KERRANG 2002 AWARDS PAGE

The Kerrang Awards are hosted annually in celebration of all things ROCK. Kerrang magazine is the UKs most successful rock and metal magazine, and with the increased sales of nu-metal it has sailed to the top of the best sellers lists.

This year's awards were held in August and they were a typically debauched affair that saw some surprise winners and rather shocked losers. The UK metal scene was well represented and the world's most infamous bands were all there.

The Panasonic Mercury Music Awards are one of the UK music industry's most celebrated prizes. To win the award is to almost guarentee an increase in sales and recognition. Previous winners have included Badly Drawn Boy, Gomez, Pulp and Primal Scream.
