After just three singles, Oasis released their now classic debut album; ‘Definitely Maybe’ in the autumn of 1994 and it went straight to number 1. The set delivered on the band's early promise, conjuring magic from basic rock 'n' roll ingredients. By the time they scored their first number one single with ‘Some Might Say’ they were a headline act. The next album, ‘What's The Story (Morning Glory)’, was a rich and assured record with Noel's Beatle-esque melodies in spectacular form. The album boasted two classics in the glorious ‘Wonderwall’ and Noels ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’. The follow up albums, ‘Be Here Now’and ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’, were both met with muted response. 2002 saw them return to the top of the charts with ‘The Hindu Times’, and the accompanying album ‘Heathen Chemistry’. In 2004 plans for a new album were scrapped, re-recorded and then scrapped again with Noel insisting on a re-think. The band's appearance at Glastonbury 2004 was greeted with mixed reaction from fans and critics alike but despite all these set backs they remain as popular and collectable as ever…
