Considering the magnitude of his achievements with the Beatles, Lennon's solo career is relatively overlooked. After releasing a pair of acclaimed albums, ‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band’ and the classic ‘Imagine’, John struggled musically and began to live a life of debauchery with Elton John, Harry Nilsson, Ringo Starr and others. In 1980, he launched a comeback, releasing the album Double Fantasy. Just as his career was on an upswing, he was assassinated. In the years that followed, several albums of unreleased recordings appeared; perhaps the most substantial was the 1998 four-disc box set Anthology.
