The Labels:
Black and Yellow Parlophone design with "The Gramophone Co Ltd" and "Sold In UK Subject To...." text. Absolutely pristine with 'KT' tax code clearly visible on side 2; sharp, vivid text and logos.
Matrix Numbers:
The matrix numbers on both sides finish -1 indicating that this copy was among the first pressed -

The Vinyl:
Simply amazing condition, retaining a glorious 'just pressed' lustre 40 years on with just one minor mark on the opening track of side two.
The Inner:
Original red and white psychedelic inner with "Made in Great Britain, Patents Applied For" text - bright and clean with no splits or even scuffing to the edges.
The Cut-Outs:
The darker green, first issue set of unused cut-outs - once again in as new condition.
The Sleeve:
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is fully laminated with internal flipbacks, and as mentioned it is the wide spined variant. It is in beautiful shape with rich colours, crisp, clean undamaged laminate and secure flipbacks. Most importantly the spine has not been crushed as is so often the case with this rarity.
This is a truly remarkable copy of a highly sought after variant and the purchaser would NEVER need to upgrade - an absolute gem! |
